System Design and Usability Assessment Tools (continued)

  • Full Fidelity Simulation - Full fidelity simulation represents as closely as possible the actual equipment under evaluation/development and the environment in which it will be used.  These simulators approximate the "look and feel" of the proposed system and permit assessment of complete task sequences, scenarios, and user-to-system interactions.  Usually, they are instrumented to permit detailed data collection on user performance such as response time, errors, and error types by task and scenario in order to evaluate system design effectiveness and efficiency.
