Lesson Goals (Continued)

The second part of the module concentrates on Crew Resource Management (CRM), as a special application of teams to safety critical operations. From this section of the module, you should gain an understanding of CRM as a team-based methodology to reduce human error in safety critical operations. In addition, you will be introduced to the systems approach to error management. That is, the recognition of the inevitability of human error and the complex combination of systemic and human factors that contribute to it. Additional topics incorporated in this section of the module are:

  • CRM development and evolution,
  • Performance measurement,
  • Incident reporting systems,
  • Human error models,
  • CRM effectiveness,
