Physical Workload

• This is a prime concern when designing tasks in the workplace that require physical exertion.
• Issues to consider when designing for physical workloads are:
  - The strength of the workers,
- Lifting requirements of the job.
• Measures that are used to assess the physical workload of users include:
  - Physiological measures
- Biomechanical calculations.
Steel Workers perform tasks with high physical demands in extremely hot environments. These stressors must be accounted for in developing tasks, tools, and work rotation and work rest schedules.
