Long-term memory

Long-term memory (LTM) is the "final" storage area of the human memory model. This is the destination store where both factual and procedural information is retained. Retention is strengthened by associating information with other memories and information structures.
This aircraft maintainer is using STM to retain images of components attended to and to retrieve information on how to fix the problems as found from LTM.
