Lesson Goals

This module reviews the basics on work environments and work station design conducive to worker productivity, health, and well being. This module covers:

  • Work Environment
    • Lighting
    • Noise
    • Climate
Industrial environments require adequate lighting, as well as, noise and vibration evaluation to protect worker health and enable task performance.
At times, FAA maintainers must work in outdoor environments to service or upgrade equipment. Visual Display Terminal (VDT) work-places present a different set of challenges to eliminate screen glare and design work-stations for comfort and productivity.
